Possibly The Largest Vessel Ever Built Until Imperialism? A Monumental Case Study

The ark built by Noah and whose dimensions were laid out by the LORD God was massive! A bastion of safety during a worldwide flood that eradicated everything that had the breath of life in it. From Genesis Ch.7. The ark was to be 300 cubits long, 50 cubits wide and 30 cubits tall. This equates to roughly 450 feet long, 75 feet wide, and 45 feet tall! And it had three decks for storage capacity. To put these dimensions into modern day perspective try this out....

The three levels of deck space equaled 97,500 square feet. The equivalent of slightly more than 20 basketball courts!!

Total volume for the vessel would have been 1,396,000 cubic feet!!

Gross Tonnage would have been about 13,960 tons

Its carrying capacity(the amount of animal space and food storage area) was the equivalent of 10 freight trains each carrying 52 boxcars!!!! 520 in total.
